Job Summary
The incumbent in this class performs planning and programming duties related to managing County operations by providing strategic planning and executive leadership to Department Heads and other County management staff. Responsibilities include overseeing the management of multiple County governmental agencies within an assigned area of responsibility, coordinating the County’s Criminal Justice System, and supervising departments such as Housing and Community Development, Emergency Communications, Emergency Management, Environment and Community Development, Fire, Parks and Recreation, Police, and Public Works.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration (Master’s degree in Business or Public Administration is preferred)
- Ten (10) years experience in municipal/public management with authority for program direction and budget administration, including five (5) years supervisory experience
- A year for year interchange of indicated education and experience equal to the minimum qualifications
- Licenses required: Valid State of Georgia Driver’s License (as required by position assignment)
