Substitute School Nurse
Promotes the fullest possible educational opportunity for each student in the district by minimizing absence due to illness and creating a climate of health and well-being in the district schools. Location
Various school locations throughout Manhattan and Ogden.
Pay
$18.00/hour. This position is not eligible for benefits.
Schedule
Positions available during the regular school year.
Responsibilities
- Reports to parents, school personnel, physicians, clinics, and other agencies on school medical matters.
- Assumes responsibility for the first aid care of a student or staff member who has suffered injury or illness.
- Provides health education on an individual basis.
- Visits home of students when necessary or when referred by principals.
- Advises on modification of the educational program to meet health needs of individual students.
- Advises teachers on health matters, particularly regarding screening for student health problems.
- Interprets laws relating to school health.
- Assists school personnel in establishing healthy conditions in schools.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
