Specific Responsibilities
- Notify Administration if and when there is a need to call 911/Paramedics.
- Care for the medical needs of the CCA student body and faculty and at times church staff as well.
- Assessing the condition of the person, giving proper medical attention to those in need, scaling from headaches to broken bones.
- Responsible for making sure that each student is current on all vaccines and is in compliance with the Department Of Health.
- Responsible for making sure that each staff member has viewed the OSHA Blood borne pathogens video and taken the quiz annually.
- Ensuring that the clinic is kept safe, clean and in compliance with the Department Of Health.
- Adequately dispose of all sharps in a manner deemed appropriate by the Department of Health.
- Responsible for dispensing medication to students and staff.
- Ensure that the clinic fridge, as well as the cabinets, is adequately stocked with the diabetics’ supplies that are needed on a daily basis as well as in case of an emergency.
- Ensure that the clinic is kept stocked with appropriate over-the-counter medication for students and staff.
- Record each student who comes into the clinic in the daily log.
- Record each student who receives daily medication in the medication log.
- Ensure that each student receiving medication has the appropriate medication authorization form signed by physician and parent.
- Comfort, care and pray with ill students coming into the CCA clinic.
- Coordinate school health activities for students such as vision screening and scoliosis screening as required for McKay Scholarships.
- Help coordinate CPR/AED training.
- Notify parents of student’s visit to the clinic due to illness or injury.
- Ensure that necessary injury reports for significant injuries that may require medical attention are filled out.
- Notify parents in writing of any communicable illness in their child’s classroom.
- Clinic cards each year for each child.
- Log all temporary clinic pass-points given to injured students and follow-up that they are returned when due or else.

- Degree in Nursing.

- Experience and training in the medical field.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Compassionate and sensitive to the needs of others.
- Ability to pray with and comfort students and parents.
- Ability to interact with the students, parents and staff in a caring and a professional manor.
- Ability to be flexible, focused, and able to manage time and projects well.
- Ability to remain calm and carry out duties in a crisis situation.
