About the Role

The Substitute School Nurse provides essential health services to students and staff, collaborating with school personnel to develop and implement health programs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct immunizations, physical exams, and health screenings
• Maintain accurate health records
• Manage medical emergencies and oversee medication administration
• Train staff on emergency procedures such as Epipen use
• Coordinate with adjunct nurses for field trips
• Assist in planning for students' medical needs during various activities
• Communicate with families regarding health concerns
• Prepare reports per regulations
• Participate in professional development activities

Requirements

• Certified Registered Nurse
• Certified Substitute School Nurse Certification
• Strong communication, organization, and emergency response skills
• Ability to collaborate with school staff and healthcare teams

Qualifications

Experience in pediatric or school health settings is preferred.
