Substitute Registered Nurse

About the role

Provide direct nursing services to students and staff members to maximize health and wellness in the school community. Perform all duties in accordance with District/State Board of Education policies and procedures and state law regarding nurse practice. This position reports to the Director of Health Services.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the health needs of students
• Develop and implement health care plans in conjunction with the health care provider and parents
• Ensure district health care practices comply with the laws relating to student health issues
• Provide appropriate immediate care for ill, medically fragile and/or injured students
• Serve as a health care resource to teachers, staff, and administrators
• Assist with the health screening procedures for vision and hearing
• Identify health problems for referral to appropriate sources for proper medical follow-up treatment

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois RN license
• Current CPR and First Aid certification
• Previous pediatric or school nurse experience preferred

Pay

$30.00/Hour

Substitute school RN's needed for on-call, per diem basis. There are no benefits with this position.
