About the role

As the key to a comprehensive health program, this position is concerned with Oaks Christian’s approach to the health and medical needs of its students and staff, as is customary in school environments.

Non-Exempt, Category 8

Responsibilities

• Exalt our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, demonstrating a Christ-like attitude in performing all work.
• Attend to ill or injured students, faculty, and staff, providing required first aid and other emergency care.
• Maintenance of student records as required by law or as deemed appropriate within departmental operations.
• Assess health of students, staff, and sometimes family members (through observation, examinations, screening, and history recording).
• Serve as a resource for teachers and administrators.
• Establish, maintain, and control the administration of medication in accordance with established procedures.
• Implement accepted communicable disease control through exclusion standards, and report communicable diseases to the proper authorities.
• Interpret student health status to teachers and parents.
• Assess students with suspected child abuse and report such cases to the authorities.
• Educate Health Department staff, parents, and students on school health policy and procedures.
• Confer with students, employees, parents, doctors, medical agencies, etc., regarding health guidance.
• Communicate and coordinate Health Department activities with other departments and personnel on campus.
• Trained for medical management for disaster preparedness and implementation.

Requirements

Experience RN Degree. Experience in a school setting preferred.

Pay

$38.50 Per Hour
