Substitute - Local Substitute Permit ONLY

Purpose

The role of a Substitute Teacher is to ensure that students receive quality instruction in the absence of their regular teacher.

Experience Requirements

• Experience working with children is required.
• College coursework in education or related experience is required.

• A valid Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) Local Substitute Teaching Permit.
• To obtain a Local Substitute Teaching Permit, please visit the NDE website.
• OPS ONLY accepts valid Local Substitute Teaching Permits not temporary permits.
• Please do not apply for this position if you hold a degree in education and have (or are in the process of getting) a Nebraska teaching certificate.
• Please apply using the Certified Substitute teacher application.

Maintenance Requirements

• A minimum of five (10) days worked per school year.
• A maximum of 90 days worked per school year.

Pay

$260.00 per day
