Substitute Housekeeping Supervisor

About the role

The Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of assigned guest rooms. This role ensures the overall cleanliness and working order of guest rooms and surrounding public spaces, maintains organization of service carts and storage areas, and reports and follows up on maintenance issues.

Responsibilities

• Inspect all guest rooms (including occupied rooms) for proper job completion in accordance with hotel standards (80% of role).
• Inspect hallways, stairs, back landings, and public spaces for cleanliness and compliance; report or correct deficiencies.
• Check due outs and discrepancy rooms; coordinate with housekeeping managers and room attendants to queue rooms.
• Train room attendants on cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Attend daily staff meetings and submit reports as needed (10% of role).
• Submit recommendations on training, counseling, safety concerns, and staff performance evaluations.
• Train staff on departmental operations and procedures; counsel staff according to hotel standards.
• Supervise all Room Attendant and Houseperson activities.
• Check and report discrepancies on floors (10% of role).
• Review service carts for daily supplies, staff attire, professional conduct, and grooming.
• Process daily reports, special amenities, and follow up on maintenance issues.
• Update room status in the HotSos application based on the 12-point inspection checklist.
• Prepare daily show rooms and distribute hotel informational collateral to employees and guest rooms.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• One year of supervisory experience in Housekeeping or a combination of education and experience providing the required skills.
• Clerical adaptability and experience.
• Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Fluent in English.

Pay

$32.9569 - $43.9426 per hour.
