Substitute Health Fitness Specialist - Wheaton, IL

Responsibilities

  • Guide members through personalized exercise programs based on members' goals, fitness levels, and health conditions.
  • Lead group exercise classes, including balance, cardiovascular workouts, strength training, and other formats.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to ensure proper exercise techniques and prevent injuries.
  • Aid in health promotion initiatives, such as wellness workshops and events as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of client progress and program participation.
  • Collaborate with other wellness professionals, such as physical therapists, to optimize clients' health outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field preferred.
  • Certified Personal Trainer and other relevant certifications considered (e.g., ACSM, NASM, ACE).
  • Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a fitness setting, preferably working with diverse populations.
  • Strong knowledge of exercise principles, techniques, and equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to different teaching styles and preferences of clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire individuals to achieve their fitness goals.
  • Familiarity with exercise modifications and adaptations for individuals with health conditions or injuries.
