Substitute Educator (Auburn School District)
Pay
Pay Range: Educator: $20-23 /per hour (based on education and experience)
Schedule
Schedule: (ON CALL) 6:15am-8:30 and/or Monday-Friday 12:45-6pm.
Location
Candidates should be open to any of the schools we partner with in the Auburn District. Please note we cannot guarantee preferred school assignments as our needs are based on the needs of the programs we serve.
Drive the Mission
- Daily Program Meetings: Review goals and updates, share ideas, discuss professional progress, encourage collaboration, and team accountability.
- Organize and Facilitate Daily Activities: Prepare activities and curriculum for the day, ensuring they align with the program’s objectives. Lead structured daily fitness, activities, and curriculum that are both educational and enjoyable for all ages.
- Maintain a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring children are enjoying themselves while also meeting program goals. Model positive guidance and effective classroom management.
- Monitor the environment, address potential hazards, and follow all safety protocols. Document attendance, incidents, and other observations.
Expertise and Qualifications
- Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills
- Works well in a team environment
- At least 6 months of experience working with children under 13 years of age in a group setting (preferred)
- Complete two years of higher education study (48 units) or obtain an AA degree or higher or pass a formal District academic assessment test
- Must be 18 years or older with a Highschool diploma or equivalent
- College credits in early childhood education, child development, elementary education or a related field (preferred)
- Bilingual in Spanish (preferred)
