Substitute Bus Drivers

About the role

Regional School Unit #13 needs Substitute Bus Drivers. Candidates will be punctual, reliable and enjoy working in a team environment. They will possess a demonstrated ability to safely transport students (or other passengers) to and from school. Willingly maintain a clean and mechanically sound bus and will possess a strong understanding of traffic laws. They should welcome the opportunity to interact with children and demonstrate a willingness to assist students getting on and off the bus, as needed. Successful candidates should be free of any traffic or criminal violations and should have an authoritative, yet calming demeanor for the purpose of maintaining a safe environment while traveling.

Responsibilities

• Be punctual and reliable

• Safely transport students (or other passengers) to and from school
• Maintain a clean and mechanically sound bus
• Demonstrate strong understanding of traffic laws
• Interact positively with children
• Assist students getting on and off the bus as needed
• Maintain a safe environment while traveling

Qualifications

• Current Maine Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger & School Bus endorsement
• Clean driving record
• Successful completion of a Maine Criminal History Records Check

Pay

$25.45 per hour
