Substitute
Position Summary
The Substitute supports the CHS mission by assisting during the absence of one or more of the primary teachers in implementing developmentally appropriate activities in the classroom that support children’s development and ensure health and safety.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Aid in implementing a routine of developmentally appropriate activities by supporting children's social, physical, cognitive, ATL and language development.
- Implement a developmentally appropriate early childhood program, consistently applying MO Childcare Licensing Standards and EHS Performance Standards.
- Maintain Infant Toddler CPR and First Aid certification, help prepare materials and classrooms for early care and learning, maintain ratios while providing coverage in the classroom, and support general childcare tasks for evening meetings and events.
- Follow regulatory compliance by attending meetings and trainings as required by CHS, Licensing, Sanitation, USDA CACFP, and EHS requirements.
- Promote a positive Safety Culture by following established safe work practices and policies.
- Perform general tasks such as laundry and common area cleaning, adhering to guidelines in food preparation and cleaning procedures.
- Support the cleanliness of the assigned area.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the assigned area by performing general tasks such as but not limited to laundry and common area cleaning.
- Follow guidelines in food preparation and cleaning procedures.
- Follow established safe work practices and policies.

- The ability to learn and follow CHS policy, procedure, practice, and structure.
- The ability to demonstrate strong working knowledge of HS Performance Standards, MO Childcare Licensing, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), and sanitation regulations and requirements, developmentally appropriate practices.

Background Screening
