About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Substation Engineer to join our team in India. You will work on exciting and challenging projects that make a real impact in the energy and utility sectors as part of a dynamic, people-focused team where your expertise, ideas, and contributions are valued and celebrated.

Responsibilities

  • Detailed design of electrical engineering, including conceptual design and detailed estimates.
  • Substation design, including the creation of substation construction drawing packages, developing bill of materials, and procurement of minor materials.
  • General arrangement, physical and electrical layout, electrical equipment plans, elevation, and section views (including transformers, bus work, etc.).
  • Equipment cable trays, cable design, and conduit fill calculations.
  • Rigid bus calculations.
  • System Protection & Control (SP&C) design, including the creation of SP&C construction drawing packages and procurement of materials.
  • Drawings in specified formats, including elementary diagrams, relay one-line diagrams, connection diagrams, panel layout diagrams, and circuit schedules.
  • Materials procurement for relays, communication and monitoring systems, panel meters, control house panels, cables, and associated wiring materials.

Prior experience working on substation designs for US-based utilities is highly preferred.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • 2–3 years of substation engineering or related electric utility experience is required.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards such as NEC, NESC, IEEE, NEMA, and ANSI.
  • Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Strong computer skills in WinIGS and power system studies software (e.g., SKM, ETAP, PSCAD).

Pay

The salary range for this role considers a wide range of factors, including technical ability, experience, training, licenses, certifications, and other related skillsets. The disclosed range is an estimate and has not been adjusted for geographic differential.
