If you’re ready to bring your engineering skills to a collaborative environment where your work directly impacts the safe and efficient delivery of electricity to millions, we’d love to meet you What You’ll DoDesign & DevelopCreate and analyze substation layouts, engineering drawings, system calculations, and specificationsDesign projects in compliance with codes, standards, and safety regulationsGain hands-on experience with electrical and civil applications, including steel structures, breakers, grounding, protective relaying, and foundation design Plan & AnalyzePartner with member cooperatives, municipalities, contractors, and consultants to scope and deliver projectsConduct engineering and economic analysis to support project decisions and budgetsInvestigate new technologies and apply best practices in substation engineering Support & CollaborateProvide technical expertise across departments such as ROW, Regulatory, Project Management, and PlanningAssist construction crews, suppliers, and inspectors to resolve field or design issuePerform site visits, inspections, and testing of substations What We’re Looking ForEducationBachelor of Science in Electrical or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university requiredOther ABET-accredited engineering degrees with specialized substation design experience may be considered Skills & TraitsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsCommitment to safety, integrity, and continuous improvementAbility to collaborate effectively across departments and with external stakeholdersEagerness to learn and apply knowledge in high-voltage substation applications Professional CredentialsTexas Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus; required for signing/sealing reports and drawings Why Brazos ElectricWe value people as much as we value power.
