About the role
Our Northshore ACT team is looking to hire a full-time Substance Use Specialist.
Responsibilities
- Affirms clients' strengths, needs, and realistic goals to develop a treatment plan addressing behavioral health and co-occurring disorders.
- Accurately identifies risks and responds appropriately.
- Teaches daily living skills, social skills, and household management skills.
- Participates in a multidisciplinary team providing substance abuse counseling, support, and referrals when needed.
- Operates professionally to support recovery and overall wellness.
- Serves as a resource for clients, arranging services from community resources based on individualized treatment plans.
- Develops and updates treatment plan goals and objectives with clients within 30 days of admission and every 3 months thereafter.
- Conducts co-occurring groups and treatments as outlined in the ACT Fidelity Manual under supervision of Team Lead and other licensed professionals.
- Maintains thorough documentation of actions, narrative entries, and necessary reports.
- Collaborates with facility personnel and administrative staff to collect and analyze data for needs assessment within the assigned special services program.
- Maintains a clear driving record to drive company vehicles for client transportation.
- Performs additional duties as directed by the Program Director.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master’s Degree in social services field (preferred)
- Minimum of one year of specialized training or supervision experience in populations with substance use (required)
- Age over 18 years (required)
- Valid driver’s license (required)
- No restrictions or adverse actions that would disqualify for Medicaid or other billing (required)
