Substance Use Counselor I

Join our team at White Deer Run Allenwood and help women overcome addiction and mental health challenges as a dedicated Substance Use Counselor I.

Responsibilities

  • Provide treatment and counseling to assist patients in recovery from substance use disorders, eating disorders, and other behavioral health concerns.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each client’s unique needs.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of care.
  • Conduct group and/or family sessions, under supervision, as scheduled and document as required.
  • Co-facilitate assigned group or family sessions and assist with modifying problem behaviors.
  • Perform initial assessments and follow-up assessments for patients.
  • Prepare individual treatment plans for each assigned patient.
  • Ensure all documentation regarding patient care, treatment, and incidents is completed timely and in a clear, concise manner.
  • Act as a liaison between referral sources and patients, and between patients and insurance carriers, as requested.
  • Provide crisis intervention to patients, as needed.
  • Plan for aftercare for assigned patients.
  • Perform case management duties for patients, ensuring individualized quality care.
  • Evaluate patient needs and determine if referrals to other programs or facilities are necessary.
  • Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards customers always.
  • Address and resolve patient complaints when needs are not met.
  • Prioritize patient safety at all times.
  • Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in social or health services field preferred.
  • Experience in counseling field instruction/internship or similar practicum through education or certification process required.
  • Licensure or certification for counseling, as required by the state in which the facility operates; OR state license or certification eligible within the timeframe designated by the facility.
  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
  • First aid may be required based on state or facility.
  • Completion of ongoing education and training, as required by the state in which the facility operates and applicable accrediting body.

Pay

Pay Range: $20 - $23/Hr.

Schedule

Sunday - Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday
