About the role
Counselor/Counselor Trainee will assist patients through medically assisted programs and offer techniques for managing opioid addiction. The role involves conducting group and individual sessions to help with crisis management and coping strategies, evaluating patients’ progress during therapy, and collaborating with doctors, nurses, and therapists for optimal treatment outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility determination
- Facilitate, establish, and review the initial treatment plan with each patient
- Complete Bio-psychosocial assessments
- Involve families and significant others in the patient’s recovery process whenever possible
- Develop aftercare and discharge plans
- Handle stressful situations and interact professionally with others
- Perform other related duties as determined by the supervisor
Requirements
- Applicants must currently hold an ADT or ADT-eligible status in the State of Maryland or higher
- Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals is a plus
- Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward patients
- Satisfactory criminal background and drug screen
Pay
Salary ranges from $44,000 – $80,000 annually. This position is non-exempt and overtime-eligible with prior approval. The final salary will be based on experience, education, licensure, and training.
