About the role
Compassionate Substance Use Counselor Needed!
Responsibilities
- Counsels patients through medically assisted programs and offers techniques for managing opioid addiction.
- Conducts individual and group counseling sessions, ensuring regular service hours and coordinating all services.
- Reviews and updates each patient's treatment plan and evaluates their progress during therapy.
- Collaborates with doctors, nurses, and therapists to ensure the best overall outcome for patients.
- Involves families and significant others in the patient’s recovery process.
- Responds to patient grievances and complaints.
- Develops aftercare and discharge plans as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree with 1 year of individual counseling experience, or Master’s Degree in Behavioral Science with 1 year of individual counseling experience, or Associate’s Degree or High School Diploma with a current certification and 1 year of supervision.
- Certifications include CAC (Certified Addiction Counselor), CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor), or CADC II, or Massachusetts state LADC II.
- Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals is preferred.
- A positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude towards the patient population is required.

Pay
Salary range from $27.00 to $29.59 per hour. The salary of the candidate(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, specialty, and training.
Schedule
Regularly scheduled intervals for individual and group counseling sessions.
