Substance Use/Addiction Counselor

About the role

The Substance Use/Addiction Counselor position is based in Stamford, CT and offers a full-time, Monday to Friday 10-hour shift schedule. The role requires a professional to provide culturally competent counseling services to clients and their families navigating recovery.

Responsibilities

• Provide counseling services to individuals and families affected by substance use disorders.
• Engage in evidence-based SUD services and assist with Medicated Assisted Treatment/Recovery.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support clients' recovery journeys.

Requirements

• CT State licensure preferred: LCSW, LADC, LPC, or LMFT.
• Required: LMSW, LPC-A, or LMFT-A.
• CAC or Master's degree in a mental health-related field.
• Experience in SUD treatment and Medicated Assisted Treatment/Recovery.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Understanding of recovery-oriented and consumer-driven delivery systems.

Qualifications

• Experience providing evidence-based SUD services.
• Familiarity with trauma-sensitive therapeutic interventions.
• Ability to work well with colleagues.
