Qualifications
- Maine LADC or CADC licensure
- Certifications and experience in substance use/misuse issues
- Understanding of addictions
- Knowledge of public school environment
- Experience working with adolescents
- Experience with program development
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Understanding of confidentiality and applicable laws
Responsibilities
- Aids students in addressing substance misuse through assessment, counseling, and referral services
- Provides educational information on substance misuse to school staff and community partners
- Collaborates with school counselors, social workers, and administration
- Develops and implements relevant curriculum for health teachers
- Facilitates classroom-based curriculum and works with community resources
- Gathers and analyzes data from surveys and develops action plans
- Serves on MTSS, PBIS, Attendance, and Student Support Services Teams
- Supports staff through training, materials, and consultations
- Performs other duties as assigned
