Substance Abuse Therapist

About the role

Will be responsible to provide patients education and referral for the treatment of their mental illness and substance abuse. Will assess patients for co-occurring disorders, provide educational materials on substance abuse and provide therapy and treatment dually diagnosed.

Requirements

• Mandatory overtime is an essential function of this position
• Schedules are subject to change per the operational needs of the hospital
• Applicants selected must successfully complete a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug screening test
• All employees shall be subject to drug and alcohol testing for probable cause as set forth in agency and bureau policies
• Applicants selected must successfully complete a background check
• This is a tobacco free campus

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related behavioral science from an accredited college or university
• Education Substitution Certification as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ADC) from the West Virginia Certification Board for Addiction and Prevention Professionals (WVCBAPP)
