University Behavioral Associates (UBA), a part of Montefiore, is dedicated to providing innovative, evidence-based behavioral health and child welfare services to support children, families, and communities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of substance use needs, with attention to co-occurring mental health and family system dynamics.
- Provide consultation to child welfare staff and supervisors, translating clinical findings into practical recommendations for case planning.
- Offer guidance on appropriate referrals, treatment options, and community-based resources to ensure families receive effective, coordinated care.
- Contribute specialized expertise in substance use and recovery during case discussions, conferences, and team meetings.
- Document findings and recommendations with clarity, accuracy, and sensitivity to the needs of families and staff.
Requirements
- Credentialed CASAC (Master’s degree in a related field strongly preferred; Bachelor’s degree required)
- 5+ years of professional experience, with direct work in substance use treatment and consultation
- Experience working with families involved in child welfare or other high-need systems
- Strong knowledge of substance use disorders, co-occurring conditions, and evidence-based treatment models
- Able to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and provide clear, actionable clinical recommendations
- Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive practice
- Lifespan experience (adolescents and adults) preferred
- Spanish speaking preferred

Schedule
