Substance Abuse Specialist

Responsibilities

• Develop a system to coordinate and integrate substance abuse components with other center activities.
• Advise on substance use/abuse matters, including costs, staffing, and training requirements.
• Provide counseling and personal development sessions regarding substance use/abuse.
• Affirm and implement plans to address substance use problems among students.
• Document all student assessments and plans in their medical records.
• Train all staff in substance use/abuse areas, focusing on education, identification, reporting, counseling skills, and team building.
• Develop and distribute substance use-related materials and information in the health education program.
• Collaborate with recreation staff to create community-based alternatives.
• Refer students needing inpatient care to the health and wellness director and utilize community resources.

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted substance abuse certification or license meeting state requirements.
• One year of relevant experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer proficiency.

Pay

$27.00 per hour.

Schedule

Full Time, 8-hour shifts, Monday – Friday.
