Job Summary
The Substance Use/Mental Health Specialist is responsible for the provision of clinical therapeutic services to patients assigned to the CBI Forensic Assertive Community Treatment (F/ACT) team. The Substance Use/Mental Health Specialist will provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment to patients (and their families) whom are assigned to the F/ACT team.

Responsibilities
- Provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment to patients (and their families) whom are assigned to the F/ACT team.
- Work within the framework of policy, process, and the governing rules set forth by the Department of Behavioral Health Services (DBHS), Regional Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA), Bureau of Medical facilities Licensing (BMFL), and the Code of Federal Regulations.
- Be held accountable and responsible for fulfilling each of these duties as well as having the capability to carry them out.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to Behavioral Health or 1 year of clinical experience in substance abuse treatment.
- Master’s Degree is preferred but not required. Preference given to Master’s Degree in field related to behavioral health and/or has been licensed at the associate level with The Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners as Psychologist, Social worker, Counselor, Marriage and family therapist or Substance Abuse Counselor.
- 1-3 years of full-time Health Care related work experience where his or her prior experience would provide adequate exposure to both behavioral and medical crisis situations is preferred but not required.
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals experiencing crisis, opioid use disorder, homelessness, and mental illness.
- Knowledge of and experience with substance use and behavioral health treatment models.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
