About the role
New Season offers exciting benefits and is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor to join their team. With over 30 years of experience, New Season specializes in providing outpatient treatment centers for individuals with Opioid Use Disorder.
Responsibilities
- Engage with patients through individual, group, and family counseling
- Work with a collaborative treatment team including Medical Director, Program Director, Treatment Services Coordinator, Counselors, and Nurses
- Identify and meet the clinical needs of the patient and assist in their overall well-being
- Complete intakes, admissions, discharges, and transfer paperwork
- Document patient progress through counseling and interaction through groups
- Create and update individual and group treatment plans
- Provide educational sessions on treatment, health issues, and recovery steps
- Review and document urine drug screens and patient identification
- Avoid acting against the best interests of the program and company
Requirements
- Active MN LADC or LPC license
- Experience in substance abuse field preferred, but not required
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in substance abuse counseling
Skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to build rapport with clients
- Knowledge of substance abuse disorders
- Proficiency in counseling techniques
