About the role
New Season offers exciting benefits and is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor to join their team. With over 30 years of experience, they provide safe, quality, and best-in-class care for individuals living with Opioid Use Disorder.
Responsibilities
- Engage with patients through individual, group, and family counseling
- Work with a collaborative treatment team to identify and meet clinical needs
- Document patient progress through counseling and interaction through groups
- Create and implement individual and group treatment plans
- Educate patients on treatment, health issues, and recovery steps
- Perform at least 20 hours of direct patient contact per week
- Complete intakes, admissions, discharges, and transfer paperwork
- Obtain Urine Drug Screens and initial patient photo identification
- Achieve and maintain professional standards and ethical conduct
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Services or related field
- Experience in substance abuse field preferred, but not required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of addiction treatment principles and practices
Qualifications
- Pass relevant state licensing/certification exams
- Compliance with all state and federal regulations
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
