Subrogation Specialist
Job Summary
Identify subrogation opportunities and maximize recoveries across multiple lines of business. Consistently support the execution of organizational strategy by demonstrating a proactive and positive approach. Exhibit a can-do attitude, take initiative to overcome challenges, actively seek solutions and collaborate effectively with colleagues to achieve strategic success.
Responsibilities
- Oversee a caseload of subrogation claims (250-300 claims)
- Evaluate new claim assignments daily to identify subrogation potential
- Prepare and send letters, demands, and backup documentation to applicable parties
- Document all actions taken on assigned claims
- Create and maintain effective diaries for each claim
- Understand the application of various state statutes and case law
- Negotiate with attorneys and carriers to maximize recovery
- Maintain professional and respectful communication with internal and external customers
Requirements
- Minimum one year of claims or subrogation experience
- Multiple insurance lines of business experience
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Technical proficiency, including Microsoft Office products
- Strong organizational skills
- Efficient time management skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours per week. A typical schedule is 7.5 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Avalon’s hours of operation are 7am to 8pm EST. Flexible work schedules are available.
