Submarine Peculiar Special & Support Equipment Trades Helper

This position provides Program Engineering Services to Commander, Naval Submarine Force Atlantic-COMSUBLANT (TYCOM), Submarine Squadron Six and Eight (CSS-6/8), and Naval Submarine Support Facility (NSSF New London) Support.

Responsibilities

• Assists one or more workers in the skilled maintenance trades by performing specific or general duties of lesser skill, such as:
  • Keeping a worker supplied with materials and tools.
  • Cleaning working area, machine, and equipment.
  • Assisting journeyman by holding materials or tools.
  • Performing other unskilled tasks as required by journeyman.
• The kind of work the helper is permitted to perform varies from trade to trade:
  • In some trades, the helper is confined to supplying, lifting, and holding materials and tools, and cleaning working areas.
  • In others, the worker is permitted to perform specialized machine operations or parts of a trade that are also performed by workers on a full-time basis.

Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have an active secret US government clearance.
• US citizenship is required to maintain a secret clearance.

This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour worked to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act.

Pay

The compensation range for this position is $18.52 - $20.00 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
