About the Role
The Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Electrical serves as the primary point of contact for electrical operations, overseeing all aspects of data center operations related to procedure-based electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, training, and project oversight. This role requires expertise in Low, Medium, and High Voltage power distribution, electrical protection and controls systems, UPS and battery systems, electrical testing, applicable electrical codes and standards, and a foundational understanding of mechanical systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical supervision for the operation, maintenance, and repair of all electrical critical environment systems while ensuring 100% uptime.
- Collaborate with the onsite electrical vendor to maintain, repair, and update electrical systems, including alarms and notifications.
- Develop detailed emergency, maintenance, and drill procedures in conjunction with the Facility Operations Team.
- Adhere to all quality, health and safety, and environmental policies within the data center domain.
- Follow up and close out electrical issues raised by the Facility Operations Team through daily shift reports and CMMS open work orders.
- Maintain all electrical equipment at optimal operational levels.
- Develop and update site electrical procedures, including EOPs, SOPs, MOPs, and drills, ensuring consistency with client standards.
- Supervise electrical drill and scenario training aids.
- Generate periodic technical reports detailing activities and issues relevant to the data center domain.
- Provide site-specific electrical training to the Facility Operations Team.
- Assist in the development and training of technicians on electrical-related issues.
- Liaise closely with the client on day-to-day issues and improvements for electrical system operations.
- Report health and safety breaches through the site process.
- Maintain a professional image of T5 and the client for staff and visitors.
- Develop strong working relationships with client and supplier staff and representatives.
- Communicate lessons learned from project implementations to the site team to prevent future issues.
- Ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
- Provide additional support to the Facility Operations Team within critical environment operations as needed.
- Adhere to all relevant safety laws.
- Complete other duties as assigned by T5FM management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent experience.
- 5-7+ years of experience in mission-critical environments, with a strong emphasis on electrical systems and operations.

- Proficient in creating and revising technical documentation (MOPs, SOPs, EOPs).
