Responsibilities
- Provide technical support services for emerging Fleet Technical Assist (FTA) requirements, which are urgent and routine. FTA categories consist of:
- Casualty Report (CASREP)
- Combat Systems, Command, Control, Communications and Computer Readiness Assessment (C5RA)
- Deploying Group Systems Integration Testing (DGSIT)
- Inspection & Survey (INSURV)
- System Grooms and Repairs
- Technical Assistance (TA) Visits and Total Ship Readiness Assessment (TSRA)
- Combat Systems Assessment and Training (CSAT)
- C4I System of Systems Operability Test (C4I SOT) Support
- Perform system testing to evaluate performance and functionality.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Teamwork and interpersonal communication skills.
- Be willing to travel 25 - 45%.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Provide technical assistance during onsite visits to US Navy ships and shore sites.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must have a secret security clearance as a minimum at the time of employment.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Four (4) years of hands-on experience with the following Tactical Data Links systems:
- Link Monitoring and Management Tool (LMMT)
- Common Data Link Management System (CDLMS)
- AN/USQ-125(V) Link-11 Data Terminal Set (DTS)
- Joint Tactical Information Distribution System (JTIDS)
- Multifunctional Information Distribution System (MIDS)
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.
Working Conditions
- Must be able to work outdoors, in labs, and onboard ships worldwide.
- Must be able to tolerate heat/cold.
- Comfortable working around exposures to hazards in shipyard type environments.
- Ability to work in low-lit areas for long periods of time.
- Must be able to respond to emerging requirements which may involve travel and/or extended work hours.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to safely lift 40lbs.
- Must be able to carry tools and test equipment.
- Must be able to move around freely onboard ships and shore sites.
