Subject Matter Expert - Federal Financial Management

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end support for audit liaison, accounting transactions, financial statement reporting, analysis, and audit remediation.
  • Confirm, plan, design, implement, and validate corrective action plans aimed to remediate identified Material Weaknesses.
  • Address and remediate deficiencies identified in the financial statement audit, focusing on entity-level controls, accrued expense estimates, and property, plant, and equipment (PPE) management.
  • Deliver technical expertise in PP&E (eg. SFFAS 6) and Federal accounting, internal controls

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM)

Qualifications

  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Dynamic communicator, facilitator to influence stakeholders/leadership, team player

Skills

  • Knowledge of Federal accounting concepts and standards
  • Knowledge of Federal procurement concepts (including the Federal Acquisition Regulations [FAR])
  • Knowledge of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Act
  • Knowledge of the Accountability of Tax Dollars Act of 2002 (ATDA)
  • Knowledge of Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA)
  • Knowledge of Government Management Reform Act (GMRA)
  • Knowledge of Treasury Financial Manual (TFM)
  • Knowledge of relevant Office of Management and Budget (OMB) circulars and bulletins on financial accounting and internal controls
