About the Role
Maintenance Custodian responsible for the upkeep, cleanliness, and safety of school buildings, grounds, and furnishings.
Responsibilities
- Daily cleaning of interiors and exteriors
- Trash and recycle collection
- Restroom sanitation and restocking supplies
- Dusting, floor mopping, vacuuming, and window cleaning
- Grounds maintenance
- Perform minor repairs and report damages
- Manage building security and ensure all exit doors and safety systems function properly
- Manage inventory and move furniture
- Comply with waste disposal laws
- Perform periodic deep cleaning tasks such as high dusting, carpet extraction, and floor waxing
- Maintain a safe environment and respond to spills or vandalism
- Assist with building opening and closing duties
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required
- Good physical condition
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong decision-making, planning, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and email
- Ability to interpret manuals and work in a cross-cultural setting
- Bilingual skills (Yupik) preferred
Physical Demands
- Regular sitting, talking, hearing
- Occasional standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working extended hours
- Good vision and ability to operate equipment
- Ability to travel as needed
