As a Stylist, you’ll deliver quality professional services, engage with guests, and contribute to the store’s performance goals in a company known for strength, stability, and personal empowerment.
Responsibilities
- Perform hair services including hair design, haircuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable).
- Meet or exceed sales goals of $800 average weekly sales and productivity targets by delivering exceptional guest service, contributing to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink goals.
- Demonstrate business acumen by understanding key business drivers and identifying growth opportunities.
- Conduct product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance the guest experience.
- Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives to deliver an unrivaled guest experience.
- Stay informed about new and existing industry trends, products, and services, including their ingredients and benefits, to better serve guests.
- Maintain prompt, regular attendance.
- Develop guest relationships through consultations and tailored retail/service recommendations.
- Uphold high standards of customer service and salon image.
- Serve all guests, including walk-ins, in a timely and efficient manner.
- Collaborate with skin therapists and the retail team to provide a cohesive, total-store guest experience.
- Promote the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, to salon and salesfloor guests.
- Attend mandatory trainings and meetings for continuous professional development.
- Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards, including safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols.
- Follow state board guidelines and established service protocols for a consistent guest experience.
- Utilize booking and clientele systems to schedule return services and events.
- Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager to maintain guest readiness.
- Maintain cleanliness and operational standards in the salon, salesfloor, restrooms, backroom, break area, and assigned spaces.
- Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code and loss prevention best practices.
- Protect company assets through exceptional guest service and operational tasks as directed.
Requirements
- Cosmetology license.
- Previous relevant salon experience preferred.
- Proficiency in latest salon techniques for haircutting, haircolor, lightening, styling, texture, treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing (where applicable), or an aptitude to develop these skills.
- Proficiency with salon equipment and chemicals.
- Ability to demonstrate, recommend, and sell professional hair care and makeup products.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and clientele.
Schedule
Work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Working Conditions
- Frequent mobility during shift.
- Continuous lifting and/or moving up to 10 lbs. during shift.
- Frequent stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, twisting, and crouching during shift.
- Ability to stand for long periods during shift.
- Continuous and/or frequent coordination and manipulation of objects during shift.
