General Summary & Scope

The Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair‑care needs, and recommends products and services. The role delivers professional services focused on the guest’s total look while supporting the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager through performance, people, and process initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Performance: Perform hair services (design, cuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin, extensions, makeup, ear piercing where applicable). Meet or exceed an average weekly sales goal of $800 and productivity targets. Conduct product demonstrations, support in‑store events and promotions, and stay informed on industry trends and product ingredients.
• People: Develop guest relationships through consultations and appropriate retail/service recommendations. Maintain high standards of customer service and salon image. Serve all guests promptly, collaborate with skin therapists and retail team, promote the loyalty program, and attend mandatory trainings.
• Process: Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, safety, sanitation, and state board guidelines. Follow service protocols, use booking systems, communicate supply needs, maintain cleanliness of salon and store areas, adhere to dress code, protect assets, and perform other operational tasks as directed.

Qualifications

• Cosmetology license.
• Previous salon experience preferred.
• Proficiency with latest salon techniques for haircutting, color, lightening, styling, texture, treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing (or aptitude to develop these skills).
• Ability to use salon equipment and chemicals safely.
• Skill in demonstrating, recommending, and selling professional hair‑care and makeup products.
• Strong communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and develop clientele.

Position Requirements

• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Frequent mobility; ability to lift/move up to 10 lb, stoop, kneel, bend, reach, twist, crouch, and stand for long periods.
• Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects during shift.
