About the role
To place product on conveyor lines going into a spiral freezer, ensuring the product is spread out and meets specifications.
Responsibilities
- Places and spreads product on conveyor belt, ensuring product is straight and that pieces do not fold, overlap, or touch one another before entering the machine.
- Ensures the red laser beam strikes down the keel (center) of the breast butterfly and alongside the breast split.
- Prevents air pockets from affecting weights by pressing down on each breast as it passes.
- Maintains line speeds and ensures product meets specifications.
- Inspects meat for bones or fat and returns rejects to the debone trimline.
- Identifies improper cuts on cut-up product, notifies supervisor, and removes bad cuts from the line.
- Rotates to other positions on the line as required.
- Participates as a team member in development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
- Attends team meetings and fosters cohesiveness on major issues.
- Identifies and addresses areas lacking cohesiveness, working with the team to resolve issues.
- Supports Simmons’ operating systems (e.g., quality, security, LEAN) and understands the role in maintaining these systems.
- Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to move, push, or pull up to 55 pounds from table to scales at waist level.
- Requires bending, stooping, walking, standing, and working in a cold, wet, noisy, and dusty environment for the entire shift.
- Involves repetitive motion and may include rotating through cold and hot areas of the plant.
- Must be able to work on feet for the entire shift.

- Any other protective equipment as needed or required
Preferred Experience
- Preference for experience in poultry or food processing organizations.
