Job Summary
Study Coordinator This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated vaccination requirements, or be approved for an exemption, prior to the first day of work. We protect our patients, coworkers and community by requiring all patient-sensitive employees to be immunized according to CDC standards and hospital policy. Limited exemptions may be made for documented medical contraindications or religious beliefs that object to vaccinations.
Responsibilities
- Consent patients in the clinical environment for research studies, perform study phlebotomy and administer study related surveys.
- Work with the research team to process blood and tissue specimens for the study’s biorepository.
- Enter clinical data into REDCAP and Open Specimen databases. Summarize REDCAP data and prepare regular recruitment reports.
- Communicate with study patients to schedule and send reminders for research appointments.
- Prepare and distribute marketing materials to help recruit and retain patients for research studies.
- Assess protocol for clarity and subject safety, review inclusion/exclusion criteria; clarify concerns and questions with Principal Investigator and sponsor.
- Attend and participate in Investigator and staff meetings. Advise team regarding specific study assignments and timelines.

Requirements
- Essential Functions: Consent patients in the clinical environment for research studies, perform study phlebotomy and administer study related surveys.
- Physical Requirements: The study coordinator will be based in the University of Utah’s Sugarhouse Comprehensive Weight Management Clinic but will occasionally need to travel to University of Utah Hospital and the Huntsman Cancer Center. Occasionally responsible for patient facing work and activities and specimen collection form the operating room on a daily basis.
- Minimum Qualifications: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
