Study Abroad Advisor
About This Role
The Study Abroad Advisor provides guidance and outstanding professional service to students before, during, and after their educational experience abroad. The Advisor informs students, parents, faculty, and staff about various study, internship, service, and research opportunities abroad, while also coordinating program and application processes, participates in campus recruitment and promotion, and communicates with relevant academic and administrative offices. The Advisor position is student orientated, helping expand student access to and participation in global applied learning experiences that support student success and career readiness. The Study Abroad Advisor works with overseas partners to obtain information regarding application processes, course selection, arrival information, accommodation, and other relevant information. Some national and international travel is expected.

Worksite Description
This position is On-site. All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in a field related to International Education or Student Services.
- Experience: Working with multiple, ongoing projects and activities in a fast-paced environment; communicating with people from a variety of cultures; significant experience abroad; experience counseling, teaching, or working with students, preferably in higher education; experience with Study Abroad or Academic Advising; experience with student recruitment and campus outreach initiatives; experience with online application management systems (i.e. Terra Dotta); experience in public speaking and coordinating training; demonstrated knowledge of the various aspects of international travel.
