Studio Manager - Back Bay
About the role
SLT is the premier high-intensity Pilates brand in the U.S., and we're continuing our exciting expansion in Boston. We're seeking a dynamic Studio Manager to lead our Back Bay studio, inspire our team, build a thriving local community, and play an integral role in opening future locations across the market. Reporting directly to the COO, you'll lead studio operations, serve as a lead instructor, drive client acquisition and retention, develop your team, and help grow SLT's presence throughout the Boston market.
Responsibilities
As a Studio Manager, you will be responsible for leading studio operations, serving as a lead instructor, driving client acquisition and retention, developing your team, and helping grow SLT's presence throughout the Boston market. Specific responsibilities include:
- Instruction & Instructor Team Support: maintaining a class quota, serving as a resource for the instructor team, and modeling SLT standards
- Strategic Community Growth: identifying influential people and groups, building relationships with local influencers, and developing strategic partnerships
- Utilization & Revenue Growth: driving new client acquisition and retention, generating new client pipelines, and ensuring proper execution of marketing campaigns
- Schedule Optimization: continuously optimizing the studio schedule, evaluating instructor performance, and analyzing class performances
- Studio Operations & Team Leadership: recruiting, coaching, and developing a high-performing front desk team, assisting in instructor operations, and serving as the key point of contact for communication between teams
- Facilities Management: ensuring the studio is well-maintained, managing upkeep and maintenance of machines, and addressing maintenance issues in a timely manner
- Customer Service & Client Management: handling client inquiries, resolving issues, driving client retention, and ensuring clients feel heard and valued
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have management experience, preferably in the fitness, wellness, or retail industry, as well as an established local fitness network and previous group fitness experience. They will be a self-starter with strong managerial and interpersonal skills, ability to multi-task, and excellent communication skills. Critical thinking skills and the ability to work flexible, non-traditional hours are also required.
