Studio Art Teacher - Saturdays and Weekdays
About the role
We're seeking a practicing artist and educator to join our team at One River School of Art + Design. The ideal candidate will lead dynamic art classes for PreK-12 students, fostering creativity and confidence through contemporary art practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead hands-on weekly art classes for PreK-12 students
- Teach classes in various formats including weekday mornings, afternoons, evenings, and on Saturdays and Sundays
- Explore contemporary approaches across painting, drawing, sculpture, collage, mixed media, and 3D work
- Encourage experimentation, creative risk-taking, and big imaginative thinking
- Create "WOW moments" that build confidence and artistic voice
- Connect thoughtfully with families about student growth and creative breakthroughs
Requirements
- A practicing or highly engaged artist with at least 1 year of teaching experience
- Energized by working with children and nurturing their creative confidence
- Warm, engaging, and student-centered
- A thoughtful communicator who values relationships with families and colleagues
Qualifications
- BFA or BS in Art Education required
- MFA or Master’s in Art Education is a plus
