About the Role
As a Student Worship Leader, you will partner with the Student Ministry team and Central Worship Team to develop a vibrant student worship culture at Southeast Christian Church. This role focuses on leading student worship gatherings and developing student volunteers to share in that vision. You will report to the Worship Leader.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead student worship services on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings, in partnership with student ministry volunteers and staff.
- Build the Planning Center Online (PCO) plan, schedule musicians, select songs, and schedule and conduct rehearsals.
- Play an instrument and lead vocally during student worship services.
- Provide input and direction for the service alongside student leads.
- Recruit, shepherd, and develop student worship volunteers.
- Lead a weekly team night or rehearsal to build team culture and prepare volunteers to serve.
- Provide pastoral care and encouragement for students and volunteers within the scope of the worship team.
- Maintain instruments and upkeep any other gear for student worship.
- Support the worship needs of the ministry at middle school camp.
- Partner with the Student Ministry Leader to plan worship response elements and other programming pieces for student worship gatherings.
Requirements
- High school diploma required; some college or ministry coursework preferred.
- Experience leading worship (minimum of 1 year); band or team-leading experience a plus.
- Engaged member of Southeast Christian Church, or willing to become one.

- Leads by example fulfilling the staff expectations of groups, inviting, serving, worship, and giving.
- Agree with the Statement of Faith, submit to the leadership established by the church, and live out our church Mantras in tangible ways.
Qualifications
- Pastor/shepherd at heart.
- Musical skills (piano and/or acoustic guitar preferred) and strong lead vocal ability.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proven or emerging volunteer recruitment and training skills.
- Desire to work with students and families.
- Strong work ethic and a team player/collaborator.
- Familiarity with Ableton preferred.
- Familiarity with Planning Center Online preferred.
