About the role

The vegetable entomology research laboratory conducts investigation into how pest insects affect vegetable productivity in Georgia and how to best control these pests.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly identify and count small insects under stereo microscope magnification
• Aid with insect colonies
• Plant seeds/seedlings and other duties related to entomological research
• Process samples (either frozen or in alcohol) in scheduled time each week
• Check colonies and the plants that maintain these colonies twice weekly
• Other duties will be determined in a weekly lab meeting

Requirements

• On-time for assigned work times
• Looking through the stereo microscope for hours at a time
• Lifting soil tubs and standard potting trays with full pots
• Driving

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License

Will be on-time for the assigned times of work.
