About the role
The vegetable entomology research laboratory conducts investigation into how pest insects affect vegetable productivity in Georgia and how to best control these pests.
Responsibilities
- Rapidly identify and count small insects under stereo microscope magnification
- Aid with insect colonies
- Plant seeds/seedlings and other duties related to entomological research
- Process samples (either frozen or in alcohol) in scheduled time each week
- Check colonies and the plants that maintain these colonies twice weekly
- Other duties will be determined in a weekly lab meeting
Requirements
- On-time for assigned work times
- Looking through the stereo microscope for hours at a time
- Lifting soil tubs and standard potting trays with full pots
- Driving
Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License
Skills
Will be on-time for the assigned times of work.
