About the role
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) seeks to fill multiple vacancies in the Seeds Student Worker Program. These positions are available in the Twin Cities Metro area or throughout the State of Minnesota. The program is designed to equip and train qualified participants for potential full-time employment with the agency upon graduation.
Responsibilities
- Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, document management, and filing.
- Support transportation projects and initiatives by assisting with research, data collection, and analysis.
- Participate in community outreach events and educational programs.
- Provide customer service and assist with public inquiries.
- Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of transportation-related facilities and equipment.
Requirements
- Current student enrolled at a college/university, trade, or technical school.
- Minimum GPA of 2.5 for all majors except engineering (minimum GPA of 3.0 for engineering majors).
- One academic year left in post-secondary program prior to graduation.
Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of six semester (nine quarter) credits if enrolled at a credit-granting institution.
- Must be taking two or more classes per semester/quarter if enrolled at a non-credit granting institution or one that only offers one credit per class.
- Must be studying a field that fulfills a MnDOT need.
- Examples of majors that meet these criteria include: Accounting, Finance, Business, Communications, Human Resources, Diversity & Equity, Law, Organizational Development, Public Administration, Civil Engineering, Chemistry, Construction Management, Environmental Studies, Land Surveying, Planning, Urban Studies, and General Studies, Administrative Support.
Skills

Pay
- Student Worker Paraprofessional: $18.15 - $21.26 / hourly.
- Student Worker Paraprofessional Senior: $20.20 - $24.02 / hourly.
Schedule
- Day shift.
- Monday - Friday.
