Facilitates student learning and career development in career exploration, career planning, experiential education through internships, and job services programs for students and alumni.
Responsibilities
- Promote Career Development, Internship and Job Services (CDIJS) events, workshops, and job/internship opportunities through campus tabling, peer-to-peer outreach, and classroom visits.
- Work with HCC’s Public Relations & Marketing office to create engaging social media content (e.g., Instagram stories, posts, videos, reels) that highlight career tips, student success stories, and upcoming events.
- Serve as a liaison between the student body and CDIJS by gathering feedback and identifying student needs.
- Assist with planning and staffing career events such as job fairs, employer info sessions, and career-readiness workshops/clinics.
- Assist in creating and distributing flyers and promotional materials across campus.
- Collaborate with student clubs, faculty, and campus departments to increase awareness of career resources.
- Work at the annual Career Expo event in the Spring semester.
- Represent CDIJS and the College in a professional and positive manner.
Requirements
- Must be a current HCC student for the Fall 2026 semester.
- Must be enrolled in at least 6 credits.
- Unless first-semester student, must have attained a 2.0 semester GPA during the last semester attended.
- At least 15 earned credits from a wide range of transfer and career program areas at the college.
- Active member of student clubs or organizations and participate in college activities.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, etc.).
- Interest in career development and supporting student success.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Experience with Canva, basic video editing, or student leadership is a plus, but not required.

Schedule
Start date for this position will be at the beginning of September 2026. Hours available are Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Shifts are usually scheduled in 4-hour increments. Preference given to students who will be attending HCC more than a single semester.
