About the role

This position is for the Brooklyn Steinberg Wellness Center. The Building Manager works closely with other Building Managers and the Director of Campus Recreation to provide a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all users.

Responsibilities

• Enforce safety protocols and manage all equipment to ensure machines are sanitized, organized, and operating properly.
• Ensure the fitness area and concession stand remain clean and organized.
• Adhere to Campus Recreation University policies.
• Actively supervise the fitness center and concession stand.
• Act in a professional manner by upholding LIU Policy during conflict management with patrons, students, and staff.
• Perform opening and closing procedures of the fitness room and concession stand.
• Display a positive and enthusiastic attitude for all patrons.

Qualifications

• Interest or field of study related to health and fitness preferred.
• Experience with weight room equipment, machines, and/or food service preferred.

Schedule

Flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, are required. Occasional travel to/from other LIU campuses for trainings, meetings, and other university functions.
