Student Trainee (Human Resources)
About the role
If selected, you will be part of the Pathways Program as a Student Intern for a comprehensive mentorship and career development program intended to prepare you for a career in the Field of Human Resources. The U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Marketing and Regulatory Programs (MRP) needs bright, energetic and committed professionals to facilitate the domestic and international marketing of U.S. agricultural products and to protect the health and care of animals and plants in the United States. This means that all Agency employees may be asked or assigned to participate in rotating temporary duty assignments to support emergency programs at some time during their careers with APHIS.
Position Start Date: 09/30/2026; Position Close Date: 10/06/2026.
Responsibilities
- Performing a variety of Human Resources functions
- Assisting higher level employees in evaluating the success of programs in attaining their production goals
- Assisting with the processing of routine operational actions, forms, or records and gathering information for reports
- Referring inquiries to the appropriate staff member
Qualifications
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement, including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
- ELIGIBILITY: Students who are currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment on at least a half-time basis at a qualifying educational institution in a certificate, degree, or diploma program.
- EDUCATION: GS-4: Completion of 2 full academic years (60 semester or 90 quarter hours) of post-high school study or an associate's degree.
Pay
Salary Offered: 19.02 - 24.73 USD Per Hour
