Responsibilities
- Aid students in areas such as Adobe software (Photoshop, Illustrator), programming languages, networking, PC maintenance, and biometrics.
- Maintain a positive, warm attitude that encourages student learning.
- Report concerns and issues to the coordinator as they arise.
- Maintain a record of tutoring hours by using applicable forms.
- Assist students in various computer software and academic matters as needed.
- Communicate appropriately and effectively with students, staff, and faculty.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Assist faculty/staff with hardware/software issues related to course work; provide instructional support as needed.
- Complete responsibilities within the best interest of the University and students.
- Support College of Technology in student recruitment activities.
- Understand and abide by all external and internal regulations and policies, including NCAA, GLIAC, and national affiliations associated with athletics or other role-specific regulations.
Qualifications
- Hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, plus one year of experience.
- Experience teaching, mentoring, and software/programming knowledge including MS-Office, Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML, FTP, etc.
- Willingness to expand knowledge in computer technology and software utilized at the University.
- Demonstrated ability to work accurately and effectively with computerized data systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and promote a positive working environment, spirit of cooperation, and positive reactions to change and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, both written and oral, which transcend diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated motivational and problem-solving capabilities with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the mission of the University.
- Ability to work an irregular schedule, evenings, Saturdays, and additional hours during peak times or as required.
- Physical requirements: prolonged sitting and standing, use of personal computer and telephone (eye and hand strain), moderate lifting requirements (up to 50 lbs.).
