About the role

This position supports 16 advisors and assists 4,000+ business students by managing calendars, responding to inquiries, creating the weekly undergraduate newsletter, and handling office projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage calendars and respond to phone and email inquiries
  • Create and distribute the weekly undergraduate newsletter
  • Route in-person, email, and phone traffic; gather and relay information to staff
  • Absorb and communicate academic advisor assignments to students
  • Prepare monthly on-call calendar for advising team based on availability and schedules
  • Perform MU Connect Outreach tasks, such as checking the system and connecting students to resources
  • Supervise and assign tasks to work-study students, monitor their progress, and answer questions
  • Develop and distribute the undergraduate newsletter, compile information from the general inbox, and update list-serves
  • Assist advisors in administrative processes as requested
  • Manage 5,000+ electronic student folders, including scanning, renaming, and filing items on the shared drive
  • Ensure documents are filed accurately by students
  • Communicate with students on academic advisor assignments

Requirements

Necessary qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be acquired, and two years of experience in a support role. Preferred qualifications include great customer service, organizational, and communication skills.

Skills

The ideal candidate should have strong organizational and communication skills, as well as experience with Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with MU Connect Outreach.

Pay

Salary Range: $18.00-$20.00

Schedule

Shift: Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm
