About the role

As a Student Support Intervention and Resources Specialist, you will develop and support district intervention programs and resources. You will provide professional development, technical assistance, and resource coordination to district-level School Safety and Crisis Response Teams (SSCRT). This role involves consultation and support for the development and implementation of statewide Behavior Threat Assessment and Management (BTAM) protocols and practices. You will serve as the intervention specialist on a crisis management team focused on violence prevention, student support intervention, and crisis response.

This position requires a licensed mental health professional with knowledge and experience in trauma-informed school crisis intervention and response practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support district intervention programs and resources.
• Provide professional development, technical assistance, and resource coordination to district-level School Safety and Crisis Response Teams (SSCRT).
• Consult on and support the development and implementation of statewide Behavior Threat Assessment and Management (BTAM) protocols and practices.
• Apply trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and developmentally appropriate practices when supporting children, youth, families, and school communities.
• Assess behavioral and/or mental health concerns and implement appropriate interventions, services, and/or supports.
• Provide professional development to adults in behavioral threat assessments, crisis response best practices, and evidence-based behavioral health interventions.
• Lead or manage system-wide crisis intervention, de-escalation, trauma-informed care, and behavioral health interventions.
• Develop, implement, and/or evaluate Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management programs.
• Travel up to 50% of the time.

Requirements

• Four years as a licensed mental health professional providing mental health, behavioral health, crisis intervention, school safety, or student-support services in a K-12 setting.
• Experience applying trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and developmentally appropriate practices when supporting children, youth, families, and school communities.
• Experience assessing behavioral and/or mental health concerns and implementing appropriate interventions, services, and/or supports.
• Experience providing professional development to adults in behavioral threat assessments, crisis response best practices, and evidence-based behavioral health interventions.
• Experience leading or managing system-wide crisis intervention, de-escalation, trauma-informed care, and behavioral health interventions.
• Experience developing, implementing, and/or evaluating Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management programs.

Qualifications

Substitution of education for experience:

• Doctorate degree may substitute for two years of experience.
• Master’s degree may substitute for 18 months of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree may substitute for one year of experience.
• Associate’s degree may substitute for six months of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience providing direct mental health assessment, crisis intervention, safety planning, and case consultation.
• Experience working in or directly supporting a K-12 setting or state education agency.
• Experience integrating behavioral threat assessment findings with tiered mental health interventions, school-linked behavioral health services, or a Multi-Tiered System of Supports.
• Experience creating and training on large-scale model policies, protocols, or implementation guides.
• Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC).
• Licensed School Social Worker.
• Experience providing district-wide direction and ongoing consultation in the absence of an on-staff mental health professional.

Pay

$39.22 - $58.35 hourly; $81,891 - $121,834 annually

Schedule

• Full-time, unlimited (permanent) position.
• Day shift: Monday - Friday.
