Student Success Coach, Alpha - $120,000/year USD

About the role

The role of a Student Success Coach at Alpha is to motivate K-8 students towards achieving their academic and life-skills targets. This position does not involve delivering lessons or managing curriculum but focuses on fostering a supportive environment and encouraging students to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating one-hour life-skills sessions for K-8 cohorts covering topics like public speaking, focus, feedback exchange, and other lasting competencies.
• Conducting daily individual and small-group coaching sessions that drive each student toward their weekly app targets.
• Overseeing administration of Test2Pass for each life skill, and continuing to coach students who do not pass until mastery is achieved.
• Adjusting your approach across a broad age spectrum, from kindergarteners requiring high energy and physical activity to 8th graders needing candid conversations and accountability.
• Analyzing weekly cohort performance metrics in Coachbot, pinpointing students falling behind, and recalibrating your coaching strategy for the next week based on the data.

Requirements

• Available to work on-site at an Alpha campus in Beverly Hills, CA; Piedmont, CA; Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Miami Beach, FL; Palm Beach Gardens, FL; Chicago, IL; Raleigh, NC; Portland, OR (relocation assistance available)
• Bachelor's degree in any discipline
• Minimum of 3 years of direct experience working with K-8 students (classroom instruction, coaching, tutoring, camp counseling, or youth program management)
• A concrete example of pushing a K-8 student toward a challenging objective
• Comfort allowing AI to manage instructional delivery while you concentrate on motivation and life-skills development

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Background in youth sports coaching, debate, camp leadership, theater, or extracurricular programs where you held direct responsibility for driving kids toward measurable goals
• Demonstrated history of high personal achievement (academic, athletic, or professional)
• Narrative ability and presence sufficient to command the attention of a room full of 12-year-olds for an hour without needing to raise your voice
• Proven success converting disengaged or resistant students into motivated, active contributors
