Young Life requires all employees to sign a Statement of Faith. Employees and volunteers must profess a belief in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord, subscribe to Young Life’s statements and policies, and abide by its biblical standards and ministry practices both during and outside working hours.
About the Role
This part-time position involves spiritual, leadership, and ministry development within the Young Life community. Responsibilities include personal spiritual growth, team leadership, volunteer care, fundraising, and direct ministry engagement with youth.
Responsibilities
- Spiritual Development
- Develop and follow a yearly personal growth plan focusing on prayer, spiritual disciplines, and scripture.
- Maintain active participation in a church community and the spiritual life of Young Life.
- Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.
- Leadership Development
- Meet regularly with volunteer leaders and area leadership.
- Recruit, train, and build a leadership team that reflects the community.
- Model excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners, and camping.
- Attend and participate in area leadership as assigned.
- Resource Development
- Raise financial support and maintain donor care practices.
- Communicate ministry updates to donor partners.
- Assist with camp fundraisers and attend committee/adult functions as assigned.
- Direct Ministry
- Engage in contact work at all three levels.
- Lead or participate in Young Life club and Campaigners/discipleship ministry.
- Implement summer and school-season camping strategies.
- Potentially serve on summer staff or at a Young Life property.
- Ministry Support
- Adhere to Young Life policies, including office hours, conduct, and time management.
- Set and review yearly ministry and personal goals.
- Assist with office administration and complete expense reports in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Training
- Participate in regional training events as required.
- Complete job assignments under the supervision of the area director or mentor.
- Receive individualized training to develop spiritual maturity and ministry skills (e.g., The 5 C’s).
- Become familiar with area strategy and ministry health.
- Learn personal fundraising principles, including Basic Elements for Part-Time Staff.
- Take advantage of Young Life discipleship experiences (e.g., summer staff, adventure camping).
Requirements
- Proven relational skills with both youth and adults.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Pursuing a college degree.
Pay
Salary range: approximately $9,880 annually.
Schedule
10 hours per week.
